The Standards

The shape of an Elite lesson.

A simple rhythm — before, during, after. The same in Dubai, in Mayfair, online across time zones.

T − 24 h → T − 5 m

Before the lesson

  • T − 24hConfirm the lesson in TeachWorks.
  • T − 1hRead the previous lesson's note in full.
  • T − 5mEvery material is to hand. If online, test camera, microphone and lighting.
In session

During the lesson

  • Min 0–3Short recap of the previous lesson. Name today's objective in the first three minutes.
  • Min 3–55Use exam-style questions where the syllabus invites them.
  • Min 55–60Close with a one-line summary of what was learned.
T + 0 → T + 24 h

After the lesson

  • Same hourMark the lesson complete in TeachWorks.
  • Same hourLeave a two- or three-line note for the family. Confirm or set homework.
  • Within 24hAny concern reaches Craig directly.
Always

Professionalism

A professional tone in every interaction — polite, respectful, clear. If you need to vent, vent to Craig and he'll follow it up. Never to a parent.

Always

Consistency

Communicate steadily about session schedules, changes and progress. A regular line of contact builds trust and prevents misunderstandings.

Always

Honesty

Be upfront. Don't promise an A* if it's likely a B or C. Flag concerns early — we can put extra support in place. If a parent is difficult, tell Craig and he'll handle it. Your job is the teaching.

Scheduling

Confirmations

Confirm sessions with the client at least 24 hours ahead, by email or messaging app. TeachWorks must be updated. Reminders are auto-sent to tutor and client at 24 h and 1 h before.

If it happens

Cancellations

If a session must be cancelled or rescheduled, tell the client and the company immediately, with a valid reason and alternative times. Emergencies happen — just communicate as soon as you can.

Non-negotiable

Safeguarding

No one-to-one contact with a minor outside agreed channels. Online lessons are held in a neutral, well-lit space. Any concern reaches Craig the same day.

The Tutorials

Three short films. Fifteen minutes total.

TeachWorks is the diary of the practice. These three videos are everything you will need to use it well.

Pay & Stewardship

Paid in AED. Twice a month.

Without ceremony or surprise. Two runs each month — on the 1st and the 15th — for lessons marked complete in TeachWorks.

Paid on the 1st

First run of the month

Covers lessons completed in TeachWorks from the 15th to the end of the previous calendar month.

  • If the 1st falls on a weekend, the run moves to the following Monday.
  • Lessons not marked complete are not included.
Paid on the 15th

Second run of the month

Covers lessons completed in TeachWorks from the 1st to the 14th of the same calendar month.

  • If the 15th falls on a weekend, the run moves to the following Monday.
  • Tutors do not handle payment directly — it is settled by Elite Education.

FAQ

The questions tutors return to.

Search or scan. If your question is not held here, write to Craig.

i.How do I log in to TeachWorks for the first time?+
  1. Wait for the welcome email from TeachWorks (within a working day of onboarding).
  2. Click the link to set your password.
  3. Bookmark eliteeducationdubai.teachworks.com.
If the email cannot be found, check spam first, then write to Craig.
ii.What do I do if a student is a no-show?+
  1. Wait ten minutes.
  2. Reach the family through TeachWorks messaging.
  3. If still no response, mark the lesson as a no-show in TeachWorks.
  4. Write to Craig the same day.
Our cancellation policy means most no-shows remain chargeable to the family.
iii.May I message families directly?+
Yes — by email or messaging app, in a professional tone. Confirm each session at least 24 hours in advance. Lesson notes still live inside TeachWorks, and TeachWorks must be updated for every change. Anything sensitive or related to fees goes through Craig.
iv.I need to cancel a lesson. What is the right process?+
  1. Tell the client and the company immediately.
  2. Give a valid reason and offer alternative times.
  3. Update TeachWorks the same day.
Emergencies happen — the rule is to communicate as soon as you can. Repeated short-notice cancellations are reviewed in your monthly conversation.
v.What counts as a complete lesson note?+
Two or three sentences a parent can read in ten seconds. Cover: topic, progress, any concerns, homework if set. A bullet list works just as well. ChatGPT or similar is fine for drafting.

Example: “Today's session covered factorising quadratic equations. Johnny had no problem when the coefficient was one but found others more challenging. I've given support material and homework to practise before the next lesson.”

Reports are completed in TeachWorks. TeachWorks also collects client feedback every few sessions — we'll contact you directly if anything is raised.
vi.Who do I write to about pay or invoice queries?+
Always Craig directly. Raise it as soon as you spot it — and ideally before the next pay run on the 1st or 15th — so the matter is resolved before the transfer goes out.
vii.Am I employed by Elite Education?+
No. Tutors of the practice work as self-employed contractors. You hold responsibility for your own tax and any local registrations. Invoice records are provided on request.
viii.Where do I report a safeguarding concern?+
To Craig directly, the same day. Use the escalation line you saved during onboarding. The family is never the first place a safeguarding concern is raised.
No matches. Try a different word — or write to Craig.
